In April Fiserv Insurance surveyed CFOs at U.S. P&C insurance carriers. The goal was to uncover industry trends for 2008 and early 2009, track interests and see the strategic direction of the industry. The survey was divided into four sections with a total of 30 questions. The questions were grouped to uncover the current status of reinsurance administration at participating companies, modeling of proposed reinsurance changes, strategic direction of participants' reinsurance programs, and hot issues affecting insurers and the industry in general. The survey results indicate that the majority of companies feel they do an adequate job of reinsurance administration, but there are specific pockets of administration that are ripe for improvement.
