ABSTRACT:
In achieving efficiencies in a Shared Services environment, the largest savings typically result from bringing a function or process under a single management structure, or by consolidation of supporting infrastructure. Improved processes are often the enabler of headcount reductions and a major contributor to improvements in efficiency. However, reengineering processes is not solely about achieving cost reduction or efficiencies. In the context of Shared Services with the drive for service quality and continuous improvement, it is also about serving the customer more effectively and delivering value.
