Web 2.0 is a trend in World Wide Web technology, and web design, a second generation of web-based communities and hosted services such as social-networking sites, wikis & blogs, which aim to facilitate creativity, collaboration, and sharing among users. Web 2.0 brought in the concept of Internet as a platform. Internet as a platform to work & share data also make one to think on Security.

This paper will talk about Web 2.0 Concepts, its implementation, its influences in society & how security plays a major part in that. The paper will explain the loop holes in Web 2.0 & vulnerabilities that the users should be aware of while working in the new internet platform. The paper will also try to cover up details on what the security companies should concentrate with regard to Web 2.0.
