ABSTRACT:

An e-mail archive is a separate environment where messages and attachments are kept for compliance, electronic discovery, and business reference purposes. This type of solution identifies the messages to archive, when the data should be moved, and then sets and enforces any necessary retention policies. This paper emphasizes the benefits of e-mail archiving including IT efficiencies, improved productivity, and facilitated record management and electronic discovery.

Though e-mail archiving has many benefits including (but not limited to) improved productivity and facilitated record management, some IT professionals are hesitant to invest. ESG believes these non-adopters are precautious because an added archive creates a new, separate infrastructure into the messaging environment which can take years to implement, configure and operate. However, cloud-based solutions alleviate this pain point since these offerings can be set up within a few hours and require only minor configuration changes to the current messaging application.

Read this white paper to learn more about the cloud-based e-mail archiving solution and how it can assist your enterprise.
