Gary Steele is CEO of SaaS email security, archiving and DLP vendor Proofpoint. Before Proofpoint, Steele served as CEO of Portera, an applications company in the professional services industry. Prior to Portera, Steele served as vice president and general manager at Sybase, Inc. Steele's prior experience includes business development, marketing, and engineering roles at Sun and HP. He holds a B.S. degree in computer science from Washington State University.
