ABSTRACT:


Today, maintaining a competitive edge while managing costs is the challenge that most organisations face. High up on the IT Directors‟ to do list is innovation in the way costs are managed and contained, while at the same time providing a dynamic and responsive IT service to the business.Bearing Point and HP in their 2008 IT CEO survey identified that the strategy most likely to be deployed to reduce costs and time to market is to „Improve IT process efficiency’. It has long been recognised that a major area for improvements to efficiency is how processes within the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) are managed. The challenge, however, is to make the SDLC more efficient while increasing the quality of the deliverables. Based upon the industry standard Test Maturity Model integrated (TMMi),  Experimentus undertook a survey across the IT Industry to understand the maturity of companies Software Quality Management processes
